Waterloo Iowa
Sorry, but no pictures. We visited the John Deere factory for the best tour of manufacturing we have ever seen. The tour lasted about 2 hours and we saw the most modern automation for factory assembly by robotics. It was fascinating to watch something being built without people. WOW! We stayed in Evansdale, (which is next to Waterloo) and sadly we were there when two little girls disappeared. It's hard to understand why something like this could happen. Haven't heard if they have been found.

Pioneer Village, Minden, NE
Pioneer Village (Nebraska"s #1 attraction) consists of 28 buildings on 20 acres full of early American farming and transportation antiques, plus much more! It took us 2 days wandering around and still didn't see it all. This "wagon" was one of many in the main building. We thought it was special by the unique designs.
This car was only one of over 300 on display. (Truly a man's paradise!)
Judy wanted to ride the world's oldest carousel, which was powered by steam!

North Platte Nebraska
The Golden Spike Observation Tower gives you a panoramic view of the world's largest train yard. 10,000 cars are handled each day on 28,050 acres of land streching 8 miles.
Wil stands by the largest locomotive (coal powered)in the world. A sight to behold!!
We visited Buffalo Bill Cody's ranch. Judy stands beside the portrait of Cody and his horse "Tucker". He owned a 4000 acre spread here in North Platte.

Kennecott Copper Mine
This pit is the largest in the world, one mile deep, two and three quarter mile wide at the top. It has yielded 19 million ton of copper beginning 1903 to present. It can be seen from outer space.

Las Vegas
As planned, we spent the "Fourth of July" in Vegas. Mother Nature was extremely good to us considering what we expected weather-wise. We had overcast, winds, and a little sprinkle in the afternoon. A very pleasant day, and dinner at Arizona Charlie's (the photo).
After dinner we went to the top floor of their parking garage, where we enjoyed a 360 degree view with fireworks going off all around us. What a memorable experience!
